WTCM HOLDS SEMINAR ON HOW TO RESOLVE CONFLICTS WITH ARBITRATION AND MEDIATION

    To commemorate the World Trade Centers Association Day, World Trade Center Macau held several sessions of the seminar entitled" Resolving Conflicts With Arbitration and Mediation" on 26 and 27 June, 2007 for Macau major business associations.

The main purpose of this initiative is to increase the awareness within local business communities about arbitration and mediation as a means for dispute resolution.

The guest speaker, Mr Norris Yang, Ex-Chairman of Hong Kong Mediation Council shared his experience with the participants by analysing how to use mediation to reach an amicable settlement and rebuild commercial relationships.

Over 150 representatives from The Macau Chinese Enterprises Association, Industrial Association of Macau, Macau Importers and Exporters Association, Association of Knitting & Spinning Industry of Macau, Macau Shipper's Association, Association of Macau Tourist Agents and Macau Hoteliers & Innkeepers Association participated in these sessions.

    Aimed at promoting exchange and cooperation among World Trade Centers in the Greater China and strengthening their network of connections, the World Trade Center Chongqing organised the "Greater China WTC Joint Conference 2007" on 18-20 June 2007.

The conference, hosted by the WTC Chongqing was attended by WTC representatives from Beijing, Tianjin, Chengdu, Xian, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nansha, Wuxi, Ningbo, Changzhou, Hong Kong, Macau and Taipei. Speaking at the event, Secretary General of the WTC Chongqing Ms Long Xiao Yan discussed on the measures for strengthening the connection and collaboration among WTCs in the Greater China. She encouraged the participants to leverage WTC's information network that enables the WTCs in China to achieve a greater success. Representatives from other WTC also discuss on pragmatic interaction and cooperation.

   The ground breaking and project commencement ceremony of World Trade Center Changzhou was held on 28 June, the same day that the "International Trading Summit of China (Changzhou)" hosted by the Wujin District Government and co-organised by the Wujin Branch of CCPIT and the WTC Changzhou was held at the Wujin Science and Education City.

Leading officials of the Jiangsu Provincial Government and the Changzhou Municipal Government were invited to officiate at the commencement ceremony. Guests witnessed the memorable moment included the President of the WTC Macau Mr Alberto Marçal and delegates from Mumbai, Seoul, Taipei, Shanghai, Beijing and Chongqing.

The new WTC Changzhou Building is composed of a twin-tower structure and a cluster of buildings offering a total gross floor area of 135,000 square metres. The building complex will be equipped with various functional facilities including a permanent showroom building, a conference and exhibition center, an international branded product shopping mall, the WTC management services center, the WTC clubhouse and an underground car park.

The WTC Changzhou will collaborate and exchange with more than 300 WTCs around the world and other trading services partners, to provide a well-established international trading platform for its members.
