WTC and IBM extend co-operation
In an extension
of the co-operation agreement signed in 2000, the WTC Macau and IBM
HK/China Ltd. have agreed to join efforts again in promoting e-business
knowledge for the Macau Government and private sector through the organisation
of seminars and other joint activities.

The new Memorandum of Understanding
between the two organisations was signed by WTC Macau President Alberto
Marçal and IBM Global Mid-Market Business Executive Christopher
Chan on February 7, 2002.
Under the terms of the Agreement,
the WTC Macau and IBM will carry out a series of seminars, workshops,
conferences and tours offering solid and proven e-business technology
and knowledge. Recently, a seminar about "Quality Government Services
to Citizens" was held on March 20, 2002. IBM's IT professionals were
invited to share with local government officials their previous experiences,
namely on how to improve the efficiency and effectiveness within government
organizations through topics such as Infrastructure for Quality Services,
Workflow for Operational Efficiency, High Availability and Security
Management Services.

In addition, a technology exhibition will be held in September. It will cover nearly every sector of the IT industry from e-commerce, communication solutions and hardware to digital products.
