WORLD TRADE CENTER MACAU OFFICIALLY COMMENDED FOR ITS SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE IN SERVICES AND FACILITIES DURING THE WTCA SPRING MEETING IN SEOUL

    The World Trade Center Macau was officially commended for its superior performance in services and facilities during the World Trade Center Association Spring Meeting in Seoul, Korea on April 23 - 26, 2001.

    Besides WTC Macau, WTC Portland and WTC Seoul, were also admitted with silver certification. This brings the total number of world trade centers certified to 72, including six with silver certification.

    The WTC Macau's application for the silver certification process was made after a site visit by a team of WTCA assessors in the first week of April this year. The WTC Macau has been making excellent progress and upgraded to silver certification since its first certification in service quality standards in 1996.

    The facilities and services certified included several categories namely trade information services, business services, WTC club facilities, tenant services, conference services and trade technology innovations. In addition, the club facilities were awarded the Best Practice designation.

   World Trade Center Macau and IBM China/Hong Kong Limited held two seminars on "Public Key Infrastructure" on June 20 and "Content Management" on August 17.

    Ms Amelia Yeung is a Security Consultant with e-Business Services of IBM Global Services, Hong Kong with focus on Security Policy Review and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). She gave a comprehensive overview of public key infrastructure, explained in details the PKI terminology, Identrus models and services and demonstrated a business workshop on PKI.

    With regard to the "Content Management" seminar, the invited speakers, Daniel Ling and Clarence Sham, focused on how to improve enterprise's business process performance by enforcing wide document management, document imaging, distribution and retention. They also explored how to transform enterprise into a nimble, customer-focused, information-driven e-business with Business Intelligent Solution.

    The attendants who joined the two seminars were information technology professionals, including WTC members, network and Internet administrators, programmers, system analysts and security managers.
