The World Trade Center
Macau, represented by its President, António Leça, and the President of the Tourism,
Investment and Export Promotion Centre of Cape Verde, José Luís Sá Nogueira, have
signed an agreement about preparations for the launch of a World Trade Center of Cape
Verde.
The signing of the agreement was held on the premises of the
office of the government cabinet of Cape Verde on 13 September. The Prime Minister of Cape
Verde, Carlos Veiga, and the Governor of Macau, Gen. Vasco Rocha Vieira, presided over the
ceremony, which was part of the official programme of the Governors visit to the
Portuguese-speaking country.
Cape Verdean Vice-Prime Minister Gualberto do Rosário who
also attended the ceremony, had given his express support to the initiate, which is meant
to enable a sustained development of ongoing projects in Cape Verde in the services
sector, namely in the fields of international trade and finance, during his visit to the
WTC Macau last April.

An exhibition
named "Trade" organised by the WTC Macau took place at the
WTC Gallery on 6 July. The exhibition coincided with the opening of
the "Café do Comércio".
The exhibition was inaugurated by the
Macau governments Secretary for Economic Co-ordination Vitor Pessoa, WTC Macau
President António Leça and the exhibition organiser, Eduardo Vicente Flores. It was also
attended by nearly 50 participants including artists, architects, local journalists,
businessmen and government officials.

works of art of Anabela Canas, Carlos Duarte and José Maçãs de Carvalho. |
