HARBOUR BUSINESS DISTRICT |

One of Macau's
oldest local banks, Tai Fung Bank, set up its new headquarters in a 500
million Patacas 22-storeys high-rise building in the new outer harbour
business district on December 12.
The state-of-the-art
headquarters in the NAPE area marked Tai Fung Bank's "new business strategy"
for penetrating the mainland Chinese market, the bank's Managing Director
and President, Edmund Ho Hau Wah, said at the colourful inauguration ceremony.
Tai Fung
Bank is Macau's number-one locally incorporated credit institution. Governor
General Vasco Rocha Vieira attended as guest of honour.
Gen. Vieira
said the new headquarters was proof of Tai Fung Bank's confidence in the
future of Macau.
Mr Ho said
the new head office was a clear indication of his bank's commitment to
Macau's socio-economic progress. He stressed that Tai Fung Bank with a
capital stock of one billion patacas, was determined to further internationalise
its scope of business, namely by "conquering" the mainland Chinese market.
