WTC MACAU LEADS GROUP THAT WILL SET UP

The World Trade Center Macau (WTCM) will lead a group of Mozambican entities to build and set up the countrys first World Trade Center. Mozambiques first World Trade Center will be established in its capital, Maputo. The agreement about the "World Trade Center Maputo" was signed in the capital of Mazambique on 11 November. The signing ceremony was part of an official visit of Macaus Governor, General Vasco Rocha Vieira, to the Portuguese-speaking southeastern African nation. The agreement was signed by Jossub Nurmamade, who chairs a committee preparing the setting-up of a real-estate stock exchange, on behalf of Mozambique, and by António Leça, President of the WTC Macau. The agreement was also signed by the president of Banco Comercial e de Investimento, Abdul Magid Osman, and the General Manager of Consultec, José Luís Rocha Lobo. Under the agreement, a detailed financial survey of the projects economic conditions will be prepared, apart from a preliminary study of real-estate investment in Mozambique. The agreement also provides for a detailed definition of the corporate structure of Mozambiques first World Trade Center, including an estimate of the construction and other costs involved in getting the project off the ground. The World Trade Center Mozambique is planned to have a usable gross floor area of 6,000 square metres on 20 floors. The signing ceremony was presided over by Governor Gen. Rocha Vieira in the presence of Mozambiques Planning and Finance Minister Tomaz Salomão, the Macau Governments Secretary for Economic Co-ordination, Vitor Pessoa, Portugals Ambassador to Mozambique, Ruy de Brito e Cunha, and Mozambiques Ambassador to China, José Morais.
